The monumental textile exhibition that took over an 18th-century warehouse final spring is again for a second iteration.
Within the South Road Seaport space of Manhattan, The Golden Thread 2: A Fiber Artwork Present returns with greater than 100 artworks made by 60 artists from across the globe. As with the first iteration, this reprisal consists of eight site-specific installations that reply to the previous mercantile area.
Organized by BravinLee, The Golden Thread is a sweeping survey of up to date fiber artwork encompassing an unlimited array of supplies, aesthetics, and material. A number of artists join textiles’ historic affiliation with femininity and domesticity, together with Ana María Hernando’s pair of cascading tulle works.
