    Are you excited to study who received the 2025 Newbery and Caldecott awards and honors? This morning, the American Library Affiliation Youth Media introduced kids’s e-book awards, together with the 2025 Newbery and Caldecott awards and honors books.

    However the ALA additionally provides many different awards, together with Sydney Taylor, Coretta Scott King, and the Odyssey Award, some (not all) of which I’ve included beneath.

    How are these books chosen? Nominated librarians collaborate to discover a consensus on the kids’s e-book creator and illustrator winners in committees for every award.

    Robert F. Sibert Informational E book Medal

    This award goes to the creator(s) and illustrator(s) of probably the most distinguished informational e-book revealed in the USA in English in the course of the previous 12 months. 

    The Sibert Winner is

    Life After Whale written by Lynn Brunelle and illustrated by Jason Chin.

    The Sibert Honors are

    • Name Me Roberto! written by Nathalie Alonso, illustrated by Rudy Gutierrez
    • The Enigma Women written by Candace Fleming
    • The Lady Who Sang written by Estelle Nadel and Sammy Savos with Bethany Strout, illustrated by Sammy Savos

    Theodor Seuss Geisel Award

    The Theodor Seuss Geisel Award is given yearly to the creator(s) and illustrator(s) of probably the most distinguished American e-book for starting readers revealed in English in the USA in the course of the previous 12 months. 

    The Geisel Award winner is

    Trip written by Ame Dyckman and illustrated by Mark Teague.

    The Geisel Honors are

    • Fox versus Fox written and illustrated by Corey R. Tabor

    Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature

    The Asian/Pacific American Award for Image Books

    The Asian/Pacific American Award for Kids’s Literature

    The Kids’s Literature honors are

    • Mabuha! written and illustrated by Zachary Sterling
    • Clairboyance written and illustrated by Kristiana Kahakauwila.

    Pura Belpré Awards

    This award is introduced yearly to a Latino/Latina author and illustrator whose work greatest portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural expertise in an excellent work of literature for youngsters and youth.

    The Pura Belpré Kids’s Creator Winner is

    Lola written by Karla Arenas Valenti

    The Pura Belpré Kids’s Creator Honors are

    • Cruizita and the Mariacheros written by Ashley Granillo
    • Ultraviolet written by Aida Salazar

    The Illustration Winner is

    The Dream Catcher illustrated and written by Marcelo Verdad.

    The Illustration honors are

    • Abuelo, the Sea, and Me illustrated by Tatiana Gardel, written by Ismee Williams
    • A Maleta Stuffed with Treasures illustrated by Juana Medina, written by Natalia Sylvester

    Sydney Taylor E book Award

    The Sydney Taylor Award is introduced to excellent books for youngsters and teenagers that authentically painting the Jewish expertise.

    Image E book

    The Sydney Taylor Image E book Winner is

    An Etrog from Throughout the Sea written by Deborah Bodin Cohen and Kerry Olitzky illustrated by Stacey Dressen McQueen.

    The Honors winners are

    • Superb Abe written by Norman H. Finkelstein, illustrated by Vesper Stamper
    • Joyful Music written by Leslea Newman, illustrated by Susan Gal
    • Rising written by Sidura Ludwig, illustrated by Sophia Vincent Man

    The Sydney Taylor Center Grade Winner is

    The Center Grade Honors are

    • Finn and Ezra’s Bar Mitzvah Time Loop written by Joshua S. Levy
    • Simply Shy of Abnormal written by A.J. Sass
