Nationwide — For the primary time within the U.S., college students of the Atlanta College Heart (AUC) could have the chance to finish a four-year faculty diploma during which the final two years of the curriculum will equip them with the abilities to achieve media gross sales, operations, and advertising and marketing.
In December 2024, the Nielsen Basis, a non-public basis established by Nielsen, made a brand new $75,000 one-year grant to assist the event of this media gross sales division (MSD). Beginning in Fall 2026, juniors and seniors at Clark Atlanta College (CAU), Morehouse School, and Spelman School shall be eligible to register for the programs. The curriculum shall be derived from the 25-year profitable Media Sales Institute (MSI) curriculum, a 10-day program that prepares and pre-qualifies faculty graduates for careers in media gross sales, operations, and advertising and marketing departments.
The MSD roadmap was unveiled on June 15, 2023, on the Nationwide Affiliation of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB)/MSI commencement at Morehouse School with its “inaugural” media accomplice, Grey Media.
Dean of the CAU Faculty of Enterprise, Silvanus Udoka, mentioned, “I’m proud and excited to be part of this initiative and accomplice with the MSI Basis, together with the media trade to supply the primary collegiate focus in media gross sales, operations, and advertising and marketing within the nation!”
Jeffrey P. Myers, co-founder of The Media Gross sales Institute Basis and co-developer of the Media Gross sales Division program acknowledged, “Our technique is the perfect long-term plan to recruit various, pre-screened, and extremely certified entry-level workers into the media trade.
