Even when seeing Barry McGee’s works and curated installations in different cities world wide (not too long ago the backroom at The Hole in Los Angeles), he brings the Bay Space with him. It is unmistakably the Bay, and if you have not lived there or have not been there in years, strolling right into a Barry present there’s a language that’s of a specific place that’s current aand omnipresent within the room. And now Barry has curated Chitty Figures, a bunch exhibition showcasing work, sculpture, and works on paper that showcases the Bay Space in its up to date (and historic) place within the artwork world. The present is hosted at Berggruen Gallery, the place Barry had a solo present final 12 months.
