    Former Student Sues High School for Letting Her Graduate While Illiterate

    Nationwide — Aleysha Ortiz, a 19-year-old teen from Hartford, Connecticut, has filed a lawsuit towards Hartford Public Excessive College, claiming the varsity let her graduate with honors with out correctly addressing her studying difficulties. She says this left her unprepared for school.

    Regardless of this, the varsity allowed her to graduate with honors and even win a school scholarship. Ortiz says she relied on translation apps—text-to-speech and speech-to-text instruments—to get by assignments, purposes, and her school essay.

    She enrolled on the College of Connecticut, however the coursework turned overwhelming. Ortiz stopped attending lessons in February and is now specializing in her psychological well being. She hopes to return to high school as soon as she’s prepared.

    In her lawsuit, Ortiz accuses the Hartford faculty district of negligent infliction of emotional misery. She says the district failed to present her an actual training by ignoring her wants.

    Ortiz needs the authorized case to push faculty officers to take duty and forestall others from dealing with the identical struggles.
