    Black Woman Who Never Had a Teacher of Color is Now an Educator Herself That Trains How to Help Black Children Thrive

    Nationwide — For generations, Black kids have been handed books that ignore their brilliance, rewrite their tales, and silence their voices. Joyce Caraway, a devoted classroom instructor in Dallas, Texas, the creator of 4 kids’s books, and the visionary founding father of Joybird’s Treehouse, is working to vary that, one culturally affirming literacy instrument at a time.
