    Black Teen from Georgia Earns 155 College Offers and $6 Million in Scholarships

    Nationwide — Chase Matthews, a 17-year-old African American teen from South Fulton, Georgia, has secured acceptance letters from 155 faculties throughout all 50 states, with over $6 million in scholarship gives. She is an honor scholar and band member and has maintained an ‘A’ common whereas serving as a task mannequin.

    Matthews, a Westlake Excessive senior from South Fulton County, goals to develop into a pharmacist and set up each cellular and brick-and-mortar pharmacies to enhance treatment entry in Black and low-income communities.

    “It’s all for my grandparents and fogeys,” Matthews informed WSB-TV. “I’ve seen their struggles with affording drugs in addition to accessibility. I wish to repair that drawback within the Black and low-income communities in Atlanta.”

    Westlake Excessive’s interim principal, Gregory Minnis, praised Matthews for her distinctive dedication. Her school advisor, Sean Moore, credited her success to constant laborious work.

    Although Matthews gained’t obtain the total $6 million, the scholarships will cowl her whole training. She is contemplating gives from Florida A&M College, Howard College, and Ohio State College.
