    Bank of America Art Conservation Project Grants to 16 Institutions

    This yr’s Bank of America Art Conservation Project grants have been awarded to sixteen cultural establishments, together with the Rothko Chapel in Houston, the Barnes Basis in Philadelphia, and Sainte Chapelle in Paris.

    The conservation undertaking started in 2010 in an effort to assist protect notable artworks, structure, and archaeological works. Since its founding, greater than 275 grants have been awarded in 40 nations to preserve work, sculptures, works on paper, manuscripts, and archeological artifacts.

    “Artwork displays the creativity, ingenuity and historical past of the individuals who created these works – and like every thing, artwork is susceptible to the passage of time,” Brian Siegel, International Arts, Tradition & Heritage Government at Bank of America, stated in a statement. “Along with a number of the world’s best cultural establishments, we may help protect these works for future generations.”

    Earlier iterations have funded the restoration of notable artworks by Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Sam Gilliam, and Jenny Holzer, amongst others.

    • Triptych on the East Wall of the Rothko Chapel in Houston
    • The Henriot Household by Pierre-Auguste Renoir at The Barnes Basis in Philadelphia
    • Roadwork by McArthur Binion on the Detroit Institute of Arts
    • Zun Wine vessel within the form of an owl on the Minneapolis Institute of Artwork
    • Eagle Eye by Nam June Paik on the Ackland Artwork Museum at UNC at Chapel Hill
    • Lipstick (Ascending) on Caterpillar Tracks by Claes Oldenburg on the Yale College Artwork Gallery in New Haven
    • Black E book of Hours (Horae beatae marie secundum usum curie romane) on the Hispanic Society of America, conserved in partnership with the TEFAF Restoration Fund
    • Six Gothic artworks on the Museo Nacional de San Carlos in Mexico Metropolis
    • Ezechiel stained glass home windows at Sainte Chapelle in Paris
    • Tableau Tir by Niki de Saint Phalle on the Moderna Museet in Stockholm
    • Watching the Tidal Bore by Komuro Suiun on the Yamatane Museum of Artwork in San Paolo
