Within the emotional bronze and terracotta sculptures of Paola Grizi (previously), faces and palms merge with pages of books and manuscripts. Handwriting slides off the leaves onto pores and skin and reliefs of eyes, noses, and mouths peer outward like information and tales personified. Lots of her works are scaled to take a seat on inside surfaces, whereas others, like “Inside Movement” or “Trying Forward” tackle monumental proportions.
Grizi at present has work completely on view at Marciano Modern in Paris, Bel Air Nice Artwork in Luxembourg, and Gallery Van Dun in Oisterwijk, The Netherlands. This summer season, items may also be included in a presentation at Gallery Maner in Port-Aven, France. See extra on the artist’s website.
