    Denver Urban Spectrum Presents “Colorful Stories” Luncheon Celebrating Women’s Stories of Resilience and Success

    Nationwide — Denver City Spectrum will current “Colourful Tales… See Me, Hear Me,” a robust luncheon expertise honoring ladies of extraordinary resilience on Could 30, on the Noor Occasion Middle in Aurora.

    For almost 4 many years, Denver City Spectrum has served because the voice of Colorado’s communities of colour, shining a highlight on underrepresented tales and transformative management. The Colourful Tales luncheon will proceed this mission by showcasing tales of tribulation, braveness, and triumph from 4 unbelievable ladies who’ve overcome profound private adversity to turn into neighborhood pillars.

    Colourful Tales Honorees:

    • Janet Buckner, former Colorado legislator, who turned grief into goal following the demise of her husband.

    • Elycia Prepare dinner, CEO of Huge Brothers Huge Sisters Colorado, who reworked her sexual abuse trauma into a lifetime of advocacy and mentorship.

    • Stephanie McCoy-Johnson, a licensed substance abuse counselor utilizing her lived expertise to assist others get better.

    The Colourful Tales luncheon may even characteristic a particular presentation on elder abuse, a urgent problem impacting hundreds of thousands of seniors yearly. Proceeds from the occasion will profit the Ruth Boyd Elder Abuse Basis, based in reminiscence of Rosalind “Bee” Harris’ late mom.
