Hashimoto Contemporary is happy to current amuse-bouche, a gaggle exhibition targeted on the small scale. That includes over 80 works from 28 artists, the exhibition pays homage to the unpretentious simplicity of scale, with the entire artworks measuring underneath 12 inches. Taking numerous kinds and approaches, these works foster an instantaneous sense of intimacy, intrinsically drawing the viewer in nearer.
Abigail Goldman’s Trad Spouse wall sculpture depicts what occurs when a partner is pushed to their limits in her signature miniature 1:87 scale. Megan Ellen MacDonald’s Deflated captures the aftermath of a celebration, with a deflated balloon entrance and heart, partially completed cocktail and bottle of spilled aspirin within the background. Pat Perry’s Hill Research illustrates a quiet snowy panorama, with a small hopeful rainbow seen off to the horizon. Sara Suppan’s New Shirt reveals a crisp white shirt with an unlucky pen stain on the pocket, a humorous reminder that life isn’t good, regardless of how a lot we might want it to be.
