    FLAG Foundation’s Spotlight collection features a new or never-before-exhibited art work paired with a commissioned piece of writing, creating targeted and considerate conversations between the visible arts and authors, critics, poets, students, and past. On this iteration, the Highlight options Jesse Mockrin’s A narrative advised this many instances turns into the forest, 2025. The title of the work comes from the poem Daphne pursued by Apollo by Sophia Stid (2020). A textual content by writer Carmen Maria Machado accompanies the presentation. 

     

    Mockrin’s Highlight work will likely be featured within the artist’s upcoming solo exhibition on the Artwork Gallery of Ontario, opening September 13, 2025. Curated by Adam Harris Levine, the AGO’s Affiliate Curator of European Artwork, the exhibition will function greater than 12 new large-scale work and works on paper, put in alongside work, drawings, and sculptures from the AGO’s European Assortment.
