    6-Year-Old Black Boy Dies After Being Hit By School Bus, No Charges Filed

    Nationwide — Mason Richards, a 6-year-old African American boy from New Orleans, Louisiana, tragically died after being struck by the varsity bus whereas attempting to board it. Police are investigating the incident, however no fees have been filed but.

    In line with Fox 8 Live, the accident occurred simply after 8 a.m. on April tenth alongside Want Road within the metropolis’s Ninth Ward. New Orleans police say Mason had simply gotten out of his mom’s automobile when he was struck. He was taken to the hospital however later died from his accidents.

    Mason was a pupil at KIPP Management. His demise has deeply affected his household and the group. His aunt, Andrea Haynes, shared the household’s grief, saying, “My little nephew is lifeless. You may’t carry him again. It is a drawback!”

    Authorities say the bus driver stayed on the scene and handed a discipline sobriety check. There have been no indicators of impairment, and no fees are being filed presently.

    Neighbors stated the bus saved transferring down the road after hitting Mason. His mom picked him up and tried to drive him to the hospital, whereas two close by residents gave CPR till emergency crews arrived. The household lived a few block from the bus cease.

    Household good friend Pastor Fredrick Sweetwyne stated the whole neighborhood feels the loss. “Having a six-year-old die on the street could be very horrific,” he stated.

    KIPP New Orleans Faculties and native officers, together with Mayor LaToya Cantrell and Dr. Fateama Fulmore, Superintendent-elect of NOLA Public Faculties, provided condolences and help to Mason’s household. Counseling providers are being supplied to these affected by this tragedy.
